Elemental Prophecy

Disclaimer: I do not own the idea of Yoshis, Bone Dragons, or Bone Hydras etc.

Kristen, the hot pink Yoshi with silver spikes on her head and neck, walked through the meadow. She looked around to make sure she was alone. She wanted no one following her. She just wanted to be alone. Kristen looked around into the surrounding forest. She saw no one. Kristen sighed and walked towards the base of a mountain. There was a cave there.

 “Ah finally!” exclaimed Kristen happily.

Kristen walked into the dark cave. She dropped to the ground and felt for something. As her hand touched a crystal, it began to glow with a luminous pink light. Kristen picked up the crystal and looked around her safe haven. She sat down on a smooth boulder and looked around the large room-like cavern. She had never bothered to explore the whole cave before. She sighed and leaned up against the moist cave wall. She closed her eyes and was soon asleep. The crystal dropped from her hand and onto the ground, drowning her in darkness...

---

Kristen felt herself being shook awake. Kristen jumped up and squeaked in surprise. She looked up to see a Yoshi holding a flashlight. But this wasn’t any Yoshi. It was a black Yoshi with red eyes and red spikes what Kristen could tell. And what was more was Kristen didn’t know this Yoshi.

“What do you want?” asked Kristen softly. It was then Kristen heard the sound of a large number of footsteps outside the cave. The black Yoshi put his finger to his lips and half dragged Kristen down towards the end of the cavern-like room. Kristen barely had enough time to grab her magic crystal.

The Yoshi guided her down a narrow pathway that lead out of the last ‘room’ they had been in. “What is this all about?” asked Kristen. The Yoshi stopped at the end of the pathway to come into a huge room that consisted of a huge lava river. The Yoshi turned to her.

“We have to get out of here. There is a Shy Guy army out after all Yoshis. The army may be looking for one Yoshi in particular but it still ravages every Yoshi it finds.” said the black Yoshi in a male voice.

“Who are you? My name is Kristen... Thank you.” Kristen said the last part particularly gratefully and politely. The Yoshi nodded and began to lead me towards a poorly constructed bridge made out of bones.

“No problem. My name’s Cory.” said the black Yoshi, Cory. “I hate this place...” said Cory as he pointed at bubbles rising out of the magma surface. A skeletal head of what looked like a dinosaur or a dragon poked out. “Oh no! Run!!” he exclaimed. He began to pull Kristen across the bridge of bones. Kristen watched the head in awe and fear as it lifted itself out of the water by a long skeletal neck. Bone Dragons. Kristen had heard of these but never seen one before until now...

The Bone Dragon opened its mouth and a ball of fire shot out of it towards Kristen and Cory. Cory grunted and doubled his speed. They made it out of the way of the fire. The dragon shot another shot of fire. Cory looked back at the flame as it hit the spot of the bridge they had been in just before. Kristen began to run faster, enough so Cory wasn’t dragging her but rather, they were side by side holding hands. But Kristen was beginning to lose stamina and fast. As if sensing this thought, Cory looked down at Kristen and pointed towards the edge of the river.

“We’re almost there.” he said. As soon as those words were out of his mouth, Kristen felt her back being heated. Kristen looked back to see a flame hit the area they had just been in. Soon though, they made it too the other side of the river. Cory quickly led Kristen into a tunnel that lead out of the peril-filled room.

Kristen fell to her knees and stopped. She would go no further. She sat on the ground with the pink crystal in her hand. It illuminated her face and Cory’s. Cory gave an exasperated sigh and sat down. He aimed his flashlight at random places. He seemed insecure.

Kristen regained her breath and stood up. She began walking down the tunnel.

“We need to get out of here.” said Kristen. Kristen liked the beginning part of the cave but not this deep. It was downright dangerous down here.

“I know. Come on. I know the way out. Its not much further.” said Cory. He then pointed his flashlight down the hallway. “Lets go.” said Cory as he led Kristen down the pathway and into another cavern. This one seemed empty. Cory looked around nervously as they slowly walked down the huge cavern. Kristen became aware of a faint rumbling beneath her feet.

“Oh no...” said Cory as the rumbling intensified to earthquake level. Cory jumped behind a rock. Kristen followed suit while wondering what was happening. The shaking suddenly stopped. Kristen peered out from behind the rock to see a Hydra Bone Dragon! It had nine heads. Kristen was scared for her life. Apparently, the bone hydra was blocking the only exit out of this tunnel besides the way they had come.

“Do you know any magic?” whispered Cory. Kristen nodded. The gem in her hand grew to the size of twelve inches. Kristen was an expert at crystal magic.

“Yes, I know crystal magic.” she whispered back. Cory nodded and jumped on top of the rock. A fire ball appeared in his hand. As the heads turned towards him, he threw the ball at one of the heads. The head was scorched and slowly disappeared.

Kristen jumped atop the rock and thrust her wand outward. She held it with both hands as it began to glow even brighter then before. Many sharp shards of crystal appeared and shot out towards two of the heads. The shards were sharp enough and flying at a high enough speed to pierce right through the heads. That was three down. Six more to go...

Suddenly, all six heads shot fire balls at them. Cory dodged by jumping down behind the rock whereas Kristen dove to the ground on the side of the rock.

“Iridis Elemental!” exclaimed Kristen as nine different colored spheres of light appeared in front of the wand and merged together. The blast shot out and hit the main body of the Bone Hydra. The heads and body suddenly began to wither away into nothing. Cory jumped up from behind the rock to watch.

Kristen fell to the ground, exhausted of most of her energy. Cory looked over at her with a look of concern on his face. He jumped off the rock and landed beside the panting Kristen. Kristen looked up at Cory and grinned.

“That... Took a lot out of me.” said Kristen. Cory helped Kristen up to her feet and pointed towards the exit of the room. Kristen nodded and began wearily walking towards the exit. Cory helped her stay up on her two feet as they walked out of the cavern and into another dark tunnel. Cory still held his flashlight though it wasn’t on. The only light came from the crystal wand in Kristen’s hand. They eventually came to an exit of the tunnel. What lay before them was a grassy plain of nothing but grass...
