Foreword

 

The following story happens chronologically after another novel of mine called Songs of the Silent Age and thus contains many of the same fan characters and references to events which occurred in the previous tale.  That being said, the novel you are about to read is not a sequel to Songs of the Silent Age in the traditional sense, as the plot is completely different and not dependent on the preceding story for more than geographical and character elements.

 

Despite this, it will be rather difficult for anyone who has not read Songs of the Silent Age to enjoy and understand all the smaller elements of the novel.  Keep this in mind before going on.
